10 Ways To Avoid Mechanics Forever

Posted May 02, 2014 by Ken Kupchik

A trip to the mechanic is high on people's list of things they want to avoid. Mechanic Advisor helps customers connect with a local mechanic and offers the most comprehensive information available to help them find someone they can trust with their vehicle. But if you're absolutely dead-set against going to see a mechanic, we've come up with the following list to help you. Here are 10 ways to avoid mechanics forever:

1) Don't buy a car - This is the absolute best way to ensure that you never have to see a mechanic. If you have no car and don't ever have to drive anywhere, you can be sure that you will never need to interact with a mechanic, unless it's in a social setting, which can be quite nice.

2) Learn to fix everything yourself - A great way to avoid mechanics is to learn how to do what they do. Of course this will take years of training and real-world experience, as well as thousands of dollars in tools, and complex machinery for specialty repairs such as transmissions, alignments, and computer calibration. But if you can do everything in your own garage you can avoid mechanics forever.

3) Send a friend/family member instead - Sending someone to deal with your car issues in your place isn't very nice, but it's a great way to avoid mechanics. Of course, you will still be entrusting your car to a mechanic so you're not completely avoiding them, but at least you'll be creating a barrier of sorts.

4) Ride a horse - This goes hand in hand with #1. If you're using a horse for transportation, you'll be able to avoid mechanics forever. However, you'll have another set of problems like feeding the horse, boarding it, keeping it healthy, and eventually, the horse will die. Plus you'll still need to deal with a blacksmith and it can be fairly difficult to find one since there is no BlacksmithAdvisor.com.

5) Don't ever leave your house, ever - If you barricade yourself inside your house and never leave, you'll absolutely be able to avoid mechanics. Since your car is not going to be driven anywhere, there's no reason why it will need to be serviced or repaired. You will have NO problem avoiding mechanics forever.

6) Don't maintain or fix your car no matter how bad it gets - A simple way to avoid having to see a mechanic is to simply ignore anything that needs to be done to your vehicle. Need an oil change? Who cares! Horrible scraping sound coming from your front right wheel-well? Don't worry about it! Whatever happens, happens!

7) Design a car that doesn't need repairs or maintenance - If you can design the first automobile in history that doesn't need any maintenance and never breaks, you will have found a great way to avoid mechanics. Of course, no one in over a hundred years of engineering has been able to do that, but you'll be the first, right?

8) Let a plumber repair your car - Letting someone with no formal training or experience work on your car is a great way to avoid mechanics. Your car may be extensively damaged after the fact, but you will at least have avoided going to see a mechanic. You can also let a landscaper, painter, physician, lawyer, accountant, zoo keeper, or barista repair your car if you desire.

9) Become a millionaire and hire a chauffeur - You can avoid mechanics permanently simply by becoming incredibly wealthy and then hiring someone to drive you around. If you do this, your driver, Walter will handle all interactions with mechanics, leaving you free to spend your gold as you see fit.

10) Leave the planet - You will never deal with a mechanic again if you leave planet earth. There are no indicators that mechanics exist in space or on any other planets in our solar system. So feel free to launch off with the Russians on their next space excursion, we'll miss you!
