  • They wrecked two of the lug nuts on my car. They didn’t even acknowled... read more They wrecked two of the lug nuts on my car. They didn’t even acknowledge doing it. I noticed two of the caps were missing before I left. I went back inside to make him aware of it and all he could say was that I should buy a whole new set of lug nuts for my car. I then asked him for the two caps that were missing and he went to the shop and got them. That is totally wrong. I should have been made aware of this upon completion of the job and should have been given the lug nut caps, not told that I need to go out and buy 20 new lug nuts. I was also told that they do an alignment check with the purchase of 4 new tires. When I asked him how the alignment was after completion, he told me that they didn’t have time to do an alignment check. If that is included in the 4 tire sale, then I think that I am owed some sort of VanZeeland credit. I was also told of several other mechanical issues which he gave me repair quotes on. Some were legitimate issues that I will get taken care of and others were not. I don’t understand why you have to try adding things that you think you can convince me that need to be repaired when there is nothing wrong with them. You need to change your policies and stop trying to screw your customers. I have been buying tires from VanZeeland’s for approximately 30 years and have NEVER had any problems before. But since your good honest technician no longer is employed by VanZeeland’s, then this is what I get? Honesty is what kept me coming back over all the years, dishonesty and poor service will end that. I don’t know who I can trust anymore for good honest quality service.

Turns out front driver ABS cable had worn rubbing on axle. Over a year ago I had major front end work done at Van Zeeland. At that time the backing plate that holds the ABS cable was never installed. This caused the damage that I brought vehicle in for. At the same time they said I could use new front brakes. I expressed my concern that they forgot the backing plate and that caused the damage. I am very disappointed I had to pay for a new wheel bearing/hub when the damage occurred because of failure to install the backing plate. Also the car was making a chirping sound since I got it back. One of the hardware clips was rubbing on the rotor. I removed caliper and fixed that myself. We have always been pleased with the work done here in the past. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.
